Don’t Look Back

It is unfortunate that society has an obsession with things such as “the best looking”, “the wealthiest”, “the smartest”, “the most educated”, etc.

The constant exposure to perfection in the media may have a negative impact on someone’s self-esteem.

We survivors are at risk for comparing ourselves to others who have what we “think” we would like.

Pay attention to the following quote:

“Using someone else’s ruler to measure your self-worth will always leave you short.” ~ By: Charles F. Glassman

I would like to point out that if you are a Brain Injury Survivor, it means that you have survived a trauma that is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. (Source: International Brain Injury Association, (2021).

You have survived something that would kill most other people.

This means that you have tremendous strength and will power.

Feel compassion for others as they may not be able to see your strength as it is invisible to them . . . . but not to you. 🙏
