Don’t compare yourself to others.
It is ok if a TBI survivor walks a different path. This is real freedom – the freedom to be yourself and to be truly aware and conscious.
It is this awareness that will help you care about other people as well as yourself.
The alternative is unconsciousness and automatic negative thinking, and the constant feeling of having had and lost something that can never be replaced.
But when you are aware and conscious you can change your thoughts and you will feel better and you will also feel like you are part of the solution.
