Brain Injury Survivor

On September 23, 1997, Anthony Aquan-Assee sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury as well as many other life threatening injuries. Anthony remained in a coma for two weeks and was declared 'brain dead' at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. At the scene of the accident, Anthony had stopped breathing and did not have any vital signs. Anthony's story is frequently referred to as a Miracle.

"Vendeka's Creed"  - Now Available

Jesse Biggsee is different. He is a computer genius and has won the International Computer Science Fair for the past two years. But no one cares. He is shunned by everyone at his school and he just doesn't fit in. Desperation for acceptance by the other kids leads Jesse to try out for the football team. A serious accident changes his life forever and propels him into the future. A world where Vendeka, the evil computer hacker, rules everyone, everywhere. And so begins the celebration of Jesse's uniqueness as he refuses to follow the Creed.

2009 Eric Hoffer Awards for Independent Books 

NEW! My first book, "Second Life, Second Chance: A Teacher's Chronicle of Despair, Recovery and Triumph" won an award in the '2009 Eric Hoffer Book Awards'. My second book "Starting Over - A Survivor's Guide" is also available. I wrote this book to share what I have learned in my journey through brain trauma and to help other survivor's cope with their own particular challenges.

My third book, "Vendeka's Creed" is a high interest fiction, fantasy novel that takes a very unique look at the computer security problems we all face in today's highly technical world.
